Our Story

In the years ahead, community and organizational challenges will become more complex, and the resources to address them harder to come by.  As leaders work to meet performance measures and adapt to changing socioeconomic conditions, they will increasingly depend on trusted external advisors to not only help them “figure out what to do,” but also help them “do it.”  Decision-makers will rely less on single-issue specialists, and more on multi-faceted strategic partners.

Jason Robertson created J Robertson and Company (JR & Co.) to ensure that trusted advisor is in-place, for the long-term.  Jason has been helping clients design and implement award-winning research, public involvement and community development plans for over fifteen years.  With the formation of JR & Co., we intend to ensure that same level of high-quality, personalized service is available to current and future clients for years to come.

Prior to forming J Robertson and Company, Jason served as Vice-President of Barney & Worth, Inc. where he provided communications and management consulting services on more than 100 projects over the past decade.  Jason’s earlier work experiences include serving as staff to a US Congressman, special projects and economic development planner in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area and several years as an agriculture and community development extension agent in Honduras while in the Peace Corps.  He definitely agrees the “Peace Corps is the toughest job you'll ever love.”

Jason earned his Master in Community and Regional Planning Degree from the University of Oregon, where he attended graduate school on a Peace Corps Fellowship.  He also holds Bachelor Degrees in International Relations, Spanish and Latin American Studies.
